Are these predictions accurate?
Linear projections assume you can hold the pace for the full distance, which is often optimistic for longer events. Plan to add 5-15% for marathon vs 5K pace.
min/km to min/mi quick math?
Multiply km pace by 1.609. So 5:00/km × 1.609 ≈ 8:04/mi.
What pace should I aim for?
Couch-to-5K finishers: ~7-9 min/km. Intermediate amateurs: 5-6 min/km. Sub-3-hour marathon needs ~4:15/km.
